I thought it was time to finally write an entry...I hope you find this as an encouragement to you.

So, this morning while I was doing my devotional in 2 Cor. 5, I felt I needed to read my notes from yesterday's message by our Pastor James.  The reason for this was, I saw how 2 Cor. 5 related to Pastor James's message yesterday in John 17.  I have been really humbled this morning through the word.  Reading through 2 Cor. 5 and going over the sermon notes I came to some humbling convictions in my heart and realized how unfocused I am as a christian, not being "missions minded" as I ought to.  Seems as if my passion tends to get directed in the wrong things where it should be directed towards eternal things.

So, one of the truths I have been blessed by this morning is that I need to make much of the salvation God has graciously given to me.  My ambition in life should be to desire what is honorable.  I need to strive for excellence, spritual goals, and all that is honorable before God.  My goal should be like apostle Paul's in verse 9 that I make it my aim to be well pleasing to Him.  Why?  Well, we as christians all must appear before the judgement seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad (vs.10).  Christ, on that day, will evaluate believers' lives not of our sins because judgement took place on the cross, but for the purpose of giving them eternal rewards...actions which happened during our time of earthly ministry.  I need to be focused on what is important and eternal.  I need to be focused every single day because I don't know when Christ will come, but when He does come I want Him to say that I was a good and faithful servant.  My desire is that I keep saying "yes" to God and "no" to myself.
